The objective of the register (HetiL 6§)

The purpose is to collect data from the appellants and thereafter to submit the appeal. The data may be needed to clear the possible misuse of the appeal.

The sources of the data

Appellants in different countries give the data of themselves while signing.

The submission of the data

   The data given by the appellants will be submitted to the President of Finland and appellant States. The person in charge will decide if the collected data will be published in the Internet. The data in this register may be removed at the request of the appellant so that he or she is obliged to identify her- or himself. The information may be given to others within the limits and obligations of laws.

Principles to protect the register information

   Persons in charge may handle the register data as is required for the purpose of the register. The register is being maintained on a server, which is protected properly.

Updating the data (HetiL 29§)

   The law (HetiL) has set a general obligation for the register administrator to update, remove or correct such data, which is deficient, false, needless or out of date. Such an act of updating must be done without hesitation out of own initiative or at the request of the appellant. The administrator must stop spreading of such information in case the false information may harm a person’s privacy or rights.

   The mentioned rules of data protection bind and give the administration rights also in relation to appellants in other countries.
